The Greek Karaghiozis conveys the essence of folk thought and experience, and relates various events from people‘s political and social life in a way intended to amuse the audience. The Karaghiozis player, by using as means of expression speech, music, song, a screen and figures made of leather and cardboard, creates representations inspired from Greek history and mythology, from the tales of Greek folklore and from contemporary everyday life.
