The preparations for moving the central permanent exhbition of the Museum of Greek Folk Art and Greek Folk Music Instruments to the Monastiraki area, where the new Museum will be created, are proceeding fast. In this context, and as the intensive conservation work is evolving, it was necessary to have large groups of objects removed from the exhbition of the Central Building at 17, Kydathinaion st.
For this reason, it was decided to close permanently the exhibition areas of this Building from the 1st of January 2015.
The other exhibition areas of the Museum – the Tzisdarakis Mosque, the Bathhouse of the Winds, the Building at 22, Panos st. and the Museum of Greek Folk Music Instruments – are open. We ask for our visitors' understanding and we wish to see you soon at the new Museum!
